Approach

Copper Projects was appointed by landlord and developer, Vasint UK, to design and build the Cat A services and finishes for 1 Sugar House Lane, a commercial property on the Sugar House Island development. The property spans over seven floors with two 2-storey wings. The team meticulously designed, benchmarked, and installed every finish, detail, and system with the client's target tenant in mind. The team drew inspiration from the site's once-industrial background and implemented exposed concrete structure with a transparent dust sealer. All services were surface mounted and exposed, including lighting with integrated motion sensors and smoke detectors. The team also installed core doors and frames painted timber and a precast concrete staircase with polyester powder-coated mild steel handrails.

Result

Copper Projects delivered a successful project, crowned with the Island’s emblem, boasting attractive features including a street-facing colonnade lobby, two terraces, and an abundance of natural light. The team delivered three roof terraces, a colonnade lobby, full access raised floors, exposed ceilings, two new lifts, unisex 'superloo' WCs on every floor, and a new M&E system including public health, air conditioning system, heat recovery ventilation, small power, LED lighting system, access control, and fire alarm.
